This week at Village Wines Morgan from CEDAR CREEK will be here pouring a fantastic lineup of Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Ehrenfelser, Pinot Noir and Merlot Cab. Please join us anytime 2-5 for a splash of some great wine. Cedar Creek is located in Kelowna and has been owned and operated by the Fitzpatrick family since 1986.

Pinot Gris 2011 - 10% of this Pinot Gris was left to soak on skins overnight. In addition to a cool pink colour, the resulting juice added texture and peach notes to the wine. Just think peaches and cream.

Riesling 2011 - Block 3 Riesling were the first grapes they picked to keep the extra-racy acidity and less alcohol. Lots of minerality and citrus on the nose with a fresh and lively finish.

Ehrenfeser 2011 - This grape is grown by so few world-wide that they earned a Wikipedia entry for being one of the few who do. Fruit salad. With lots of nectarines, peaches, and pears. (One of our favourites for sure)

Pinot Noir 2009 - Using partially wild yeast enhances the vineyard character of this wine. On the nose, a bit of raspberry with a hint of cherry, plum and cloves.

Cabernet Merlot 2008 - Cabernet Sauvignon (46.9%), Merlot (28.4%), Cabernet Franc (22.1%), Pinot Noir (1.4%), Malbec (0.5%), Syrah (0.4%) and Petit Verdot (0.3%). Barrel aging in 95% French oak and 5% American oak has resulted in a well-balanced wine. Garnet red with flavours of violets, roasted red pepper, mint, anise, chocolate and raspberry. Sweet oak aromas provide a rich mouth feel with firm tannins and a long, lingering finish.
